AGIUS. On September 12, JOSEPHINE, aged 91, widow of Anthony, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her sons Mr Justice Carmel (Lino) and wife Tanya, Mario and wife Doris, her grandchildren Greta and husband Malcolm Mifsud, Adrienne and husband Daniel Aquilina, Isabelle and husband Fulvio Patuzzo, Franco and wife Pauline Debono, her great-grandchildren Julian, Timothy, Emma, Sophie and Jasmine and her other relatives and friends, particularly her niece Josephine Farrugia husband Anthony and daughter Marquita. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia today for Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. The family would like to thank the management and staff of Casa Antonia for the great care and support. Lord grant her eternal rest.

GRECH. On September 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, FRANCIS, k/a "ta'Cassia", of Tarxien residing at Fgura, ex proprietor of Multi Blocks Ltd., aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Theresa, his children Rita, Antoine, Carmen, Connie, Joe and Romina, his grandchildren Kieth, Olinger, Eleonora, Cleaven, Toireasa, Riana, Esekiel and Francesco Pio, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fgura where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On September 13, RITA née Mizzi, aged 81, wife of the late Emmanuel, passed away peacefully into eternal life and rest. She leaves to mourn her loss Doreen and Sammy Galea, Sina wife of the late Tony Borg, Pauline wife of the late Thomas Field, Frida and Leli Camilleri, Carmen and Alfred Camilleri, Louise and Michael Caruana, Isabella and James Harrison, Joseph Zammit son of her late daughter Maria, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 8 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Valletta, followed by interment. May she rest in the peace of the Lord.

Poetry evenings

The Maltese Poets Association in collaboration with the Rabat local council will be holding an evening dedicated to Kilin on September 25 at 7 p.m. in front of St Dominic church, Rabat.

On October 2, the association will hold a poetry reading session in collaboration with Għaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti, featuring special guest British poet and artists Stephen Morris. Everyone is invited to read his or her poetry in any language. The event will be held at Razzett tal-Markiż Mallia Tabone, Lily of the Valley, Mosta at 7 p.m.
