With reference to the article on the tuna industry (September 10), the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs wishes to clarify that the information requested has been submitted to the European Commission. In fact, the Department of Fisheries within the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs has submitted all information requested and maintains constant communication with the European Commission officials. With reference to the allegations on the tuna industry, the Department of Fisheries within the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs has rebutted all allegations made. The Department of Fisheries remains committed to safeguard the sustainability and conservation of the tuna species, while also safeguarding the sustainability of the tuna industry.
