Vodafone sponsored the Malta Hospice Movement's multi-disciplinary team to attend an eight-week distance learning course at Princess Alice Hospice, Surrey, in the UK.
The course is divided into five sections, each covering different aspects of essential palliative care.
Palliative care specialises in the relief of stress, pain and symptoms of serious illnesses. It aims to improve quality of life for patients and their families, and is appropriate at any point in an illness.
The Malta Hospice Movement is a voluntary organisation inspired by Christian values, providing and promoting the highest possible standards of palliative care for people with cancer or motor neurone disease, and to help and support their families.
