Duale Ali Farah, a 21-year-old Somali resident at Hal Far open centre, was remanded in custody today after pleading not guilty to having seriously injured another migrant. The incident happened at the open centre yesterday.

In a separate incident, Michael Galea, 33, a resident of Birkirkara, was arraigned before Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona today and accused of damaging a private car and two police cars in an incident in Gzira yesterday.

He was also accused of damaging private property, committing a crime which he, as a public officer, was duty bound to prevent, dangerous driving and attempted to injure police officers.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail.
