Art exhibition in Victoria

An exhibition of paintings featuring Gozo land and seascapes by artist Lois Cox was inaugurated by Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono at the Exhibitions Hall of the Gozo Ministry in Victoria.

The artist is influenced by the Impressionists, particularly Monet's series of cliff paintings at Etretat, which inspired her to paint the Azure Window, Walking at Fungus Rock, Towards Dwejra, and the Cliffs at Ta' Ċenċ.

The salt pans at Marsalforn, with their abstract forms, perspective and colour, have proved an ever exciting challenge to the artist, who works directly from observation and from photographs in the studio.

Cox lives in Sannat with her husband, Ian, a professional portrait painter.

The exhibition will be open to the public on weekdays between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

Ten per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the Malta Autism and Aspergers Parents Association.
