A new community clinic was opened in Mellieħa yesterday following an investment of €25,000.

The new premises will replace a two-room clinic at the Youth Centre which was last year used by over 5,700 people.

Speaking during the opening of the premises, the Parliamentary Secretary for Health Joe Cassar said the clinic, which will be open on Mondays and Thursdays, will have the services of a doctor and nurse, provide speech therapy and an emergency service during opening hours.

He said maintenance works at the Żebbuġ clinic and structural work at the San Ġwann clinic was finished recently while maintenance work in other clinics will continue in the coming weeks.
