Church of St Lucy
The Church of St Lucy on Triq il-Lvant has an imposing façade composed of a central bay and two narrower lateral ones, each separated by Doric pilasters. The central bay accommodates the framed main portal, elevated from the pavement by a short flight of wide stairs. Above the portal is a window set within a blind arch.
The entablature supports a triangular pediment over the central bay. Behind the triangular pediment is an attic band having finials with light globes and two statues of saints in the middle.
The church has no dome but a small bell-tower over the central bay. It consists of a central arch set between Corinthian pilasters with a smaller arch splayed on each side. Above the cornice on each point is a finial and a stone statue of Saint Lucy on top.
Mepa scheduled the Church of Saint Lucy as a Grade 1 national monument as per Government Notice No. 276/08 in the Government Gazette dated March 28.
