Chrysler LLC plans to introduce seven major vehicle models in 2010 and expects to produce electric-drive vehicles not long after that, Co-President Jim Press told reporters.

Chrysler has been working on developing a range of electric-drive vehicles, he said.

Mr Press, who joined Chrysler a year ago from Toyota Motor Corp, also described potential government support of $25 billion or more for automakers as loan guarantees that could benefit the industry, not a bailout of struggling US-based carmakers and parts suppliers.
