Mepa seals off shop in Paola
A shop in Paola that was being run as a gaming and amusement outlet was sealed off by enforcement officials from the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (Mepa) last week, the regulator said yesterday.
Mepa had issued an enforcement notice over the illegal change of use from a boutique into a games and amusement outlet. The main door and roller shutter were sealed.
Last year, Mepa refused to sanction the change of use of the shop.

Hats off to MEPA for takig action for a change of use of a business establishment. Why is it that MEPA did not take same action on a DIRECT ACTION on ECF 00585/07 it has been outstanding for 12 months when the place was rentented without a title. Now the residents suffer from early hours in the morning with up to 120 men meeting in a 27 mts square apartment. How is this allowed to happen in a democratic country and not defend lawful citiziens. An alternative place should be made available were these people do not disturb anyone.
