Accused of fraud

A 36-year-old man was charged with defrauding a company of over €2,000 a year ago.

Jason Debono, of Cospicua, pleaded not guilty to defrauding W&J Coppini and Co. Financial Services in September 2007 and relapsing. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera granted Mr Debono bail against a €1,000 deposit and a personal guarantee of €2,000.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted.

Lawyers José Herrera and Veronique Dalli were defence counsel.
