Vodafone announces management changes

Vodafone, the world's largest mobile phone company by revenue, announced a host of changes to its management and organisation yesterday, appointing a new boss in Europe and dividing its emerging business division.

Vodafone appointed Michel Combes to the post of chief executive officer, Europe, from October 1.

It reorganised the emerging business of EMAPA in eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and affiliates into two units in central Europe and Africa, and Asia Pacific.

Paul Donovan, the chief executive officer of the existing EMAPA region, will leave the company at the end of the year.

Its investment in Verizon Wireless will now not be part of any operating region and will be managed at a senior level by a team including the group chief executive officer.
