Vittoriosa mayor's car vandalised
All Vittoriosa councillors have expressed their solidarity with mayor John Boxall after one of his cars was vandalised last night.
The councillors and deputy mayor, expressed their appreciation of the work the mayor has been doing.
They called on the authorities to take all the necessary steps against the vandals and encouraged people who might have information to come forward.

I am NOT from Birgu, however I am a regular visitor there, and cannot but admire the work that the local council has done for the locality.
In a few years, Birgu has been transformed into a gem, perhaps even rivalling Mdina.
As such, it is rather sad that these people are rewarded in such a way.
I have no doubt that Mr. Boxall shall not be discouraged, and continue to do a pristine job, for the sake of the residents of Birgu, and visitors like me, who love the place.
Don't let it discourage you Mr. Boxall.

Again, we are in the year 2008 and there are still some people who commit miserable acts instead of sitting round a table and discuss! Stupid mentality!

just to give my support to my friend john and his family in this moment. I am sure that john is strong enough to get over this coward act and continue his good work for his hometown. It is a shame that councillors and mayors have to face these acts since they are occupying their post voluntarily. More respect should be shown.

This is not the first time that this has happened to Mr Boxall's car. Can some serious investigations be carried out to catch the culprits once and for all? My full solidarity goes to our mayor and I really hope that these episodes do not dishearten him because we need him and it is very difficult to find a substitute of his calibre.
