Two accused of drug trafficking

A 24-year-old and a 16-year-old were this morning charged separately with trafficking in ecstasy. The 24-year-old pleaded not guilty to trafficking in ecstasy and possession of ecstasy with intent to sell and to the simple possession of heroin.

The 16-year-old was charged with trafficking in ecstasy, the possession of ecstasy with intent to sell and the possession of cannabis resin. He was also charged with committing these crimes within 100 metres from a school or youth centre.

There is a ban on the publication of the names of the two men - the 24-year-old’s because he is helping the police in their investigations and the 16-year-old’s because he is a minor.
