Diver reported missing

A Maltese diver was reported missing by members of his family this afternoon after he failed to return from a dive.

The diver left on board a boat in St Paul's Bay in the morning. The AFM located his boat off Paradise Bay but a seach which involved army divers, produced no results.

Was he alone? If the answer is yes, then he was breaking the golden rule of diving; one should always use the buddy system.
