Married on September 6, at Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, were JULIANA CAMILLERI, daughter of Mr Joseph Camilleri and the late Mrs Marisa Camilleri and PIERRE CARABEZ, son of Mrs Rita Carabez and the late Mr Emanuel Carabez. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Joseph Galea Curmi. The bride's aunt Ms Marisa Camilleri and the groom's brother-in-law Mr George Formosa witnessed the ceremony. Mr Hubert Said was the best man. The bride was attended by Ms Gillian Soler, B.Pharm (Hons) as maid of honour, Ms Maxima Sullivan and Ms Kylie Said as flower girls. Master Adam Sillivan acted as ring bearer. A reception was later held by the Bastion pool at the Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana. The couple are spending their honeymoon in Alaska and London.

The marriage took place on August 30, at Our Saviour parish church, Lija, between MARC, son of Raymond and Maggie Gingell Littlejohn, and ELAINE, daughter of Edgar and Joan Ellul. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Stefan Attard. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr Malcolm Ellul and Mr Christopher Caruana Turner. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr Matthew Gatt. Mr Nicky Borg Cardona, Mr Edward Frendo Jones, Mr David Grech, Mr Mark Schembri and Mr Aaron Stivala were ushers. The bride was attended by Dr Charisse Ellul and Ms Debbie Schranz, with Miss Kimberley Ellul Hawes as flower girl and Master Nathan Ellul Hawes as page boy. A reception was later held at Castello Zamitello, Mġarr.

Obituary

BORG-BARTOLO. On Thursday, September 4, JOHN G, aged 71, after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Ena née Huber, his daughters Christine, Patricia and Joseph Rafferty, his adorable grandchildren Hazel, Joseph, Patrick, William and Michael, his brothers, sisters, in-laws and their spouses, nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, at 8 a.m. for Balzan parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8:30 a.m., followed by internment at Addorlorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. May God grant him eternal rest.

CUSCHIERI. On September 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, THERESA, aged 74, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Emanuel, her children Dione and his wife Carmen, Simon and his wife Lucienne, Vanessa and her husband Edwin, Duncan and his girlfriend Amanda, her grandchildren Jesmond, Adam, Jessica, Martina and Matthias, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 8 a.m. for Ta' Xbiex parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

New Malta Cat Club formed

A non-governmental organisation, the Malta Cat Club, was set up recently.

The club will be launched during a seminar at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Floriana on Friday at 6.30 p.m. where experts will discuss cat welfare and provide free advice.

The club aims to focus on educational activities such as promoting responsible ownership of all cat breeds, encouraging pet owners to take proper care of their pet's welfare, and promoting responsible breeding practices.
