On a positive note

'In May, my husband bought a pair of Democrata shoes from Marco Shoe Store, Sliema. Since he had previously purchased two other pairs of the same brand from the same store and never had problems, he was very surprised when the stitching and back of the shoe came off after wearing them a few times. He was upset, as the shoes cost €72.

'I suggested he call the shop, since the staff, David and his colleague, are ever so friendly and helpful, to ask for advice or for a shoemaker. As soon as David answered the phone, he asked my husband to take the shoes back, and took his details so he could ring him back to inform him of the manager's decision.

'After about a week, they rang my husband and asked him to collect a brand new pair at no extra cost. Well done to Marco Shoe Store. I know we will be buying our shoes from them and wanted to share this positive experience with you and your readers.'
