Global Capital Health Insurance Agency Ltd, representatives of Bupa (Malta), and St Anne's Clinic have signed an agreement to simplify payment transactions under a direct payment channel between the insurer and the private providers.
Established in 1996 as a family business, St Anne's Clinic has developed from a small premises with a few consulting rooms to an established provider of medical care. Its set-up includes outpatient clinics, a radiology unit and a new operating theatre for minor and major operations.
St Anne's managing director Isabelle Vella, who signed the agreement, explained how the inauguration of the new operating theatre was its latest milestone. The theatre is equipped for general, orthopaedics, ENT, ophtalmology, cosmetic surgery, gynaecology, gastroenterology and dermatology surgery.
Bupa Malta manager Adriana Zarb Adami outlined the terms of the agreement: "Bupa provides cover for customary and reasonable charges incurred by our members who seek private medical care, irrespective of where the private care is administered, in line with the level of cover purchased. The agreement with St Anne's Clinic comes in the wake of a series of similar agreements signed with other private providers over the last months."
