The Exiles U-14 team made sure of the league honours when they beat Neptunes 7-2 a few days ago to make it a landmark success for the club after collecting a total of 17 points out of a possible 20.

In fact, it was the first honour Exiles Sports Club have won in this national age-group competition.

This success has been possible thanks to the club's youth policy where prominence is being given to the waterpolo and swimming schools which have attracted a good number of youngsters. Apart from this achievement, Exiles SC have also participated with a certain amount of success in the national swimming championships.

The U-14 success followed the training programmes for the youngsters introduced some years ago under the charge of Kurt Dowling, ex-national team player, backed by assistant coach Stephen Paris. Their guidance lifted the boys' team spirit and helped them reach higher levels of teamwork.

The season will certainly go down as one of the best for the club, after winning the ASA Division Two League. Exiles will now set their sights on winning the Second Division KO when they meet Ta' Xbiex tomorrow. Success in this competition will make it a truly memorable campaign for the club from Sliema.
