Two women injured in head-on collision
Two women in their 50s were injured in a head-on collision on the outskirts of Naxxar yesterday afternoon.
The accident occurred in Triq is-Salina, close to It-Telgħa t'Alla u Ommu, at about 2 p.m.
The police said a 59-year-old woman from Sliema was driving a Toyota Aygo from Salina towards Naxxar and a 51-year-old woman from Qormi was in a Mazda 323 heading in the opposite direction. The women suffered grievous injuries which, however, are not life-threatening.
Members of the Civil Protection Department were at the scene of the accident and both drivers were taken to hospital. The busy road was closed to traffic for a while.

How very touchy!!!
My comment is not sexist or pompous for that matter. It is purely about road safety and road sense - points which you have missed entirely.
How many drivers, both male and female, do you see illegally on mobile phones without any care and consideration endangering themselves and others? I stood outside my appartment yesterday in Xemxija and in 10 minutes I counted scores, both male and female - lorry drivers, bus drivers, taxi drivers, red van drivers as well as private motor cars. It really is a miracle that there are no more accidents. A head-on collision means that something went drastically wrong - such as lack of concentration or maybe a mechincal fault but the former is more likely.
What a pompous, sexist comment!
My first thought was of their well being ,family.....!!
