Man faces string of charges

Joseph Zahra, 55, of Hal Far this afternoon pleaded not guilty to a number of charges in Court but was denied bail.

Mr Zahra was arraigned before Magistrate Edwina Grima accused of causing damages of more than €1,164.69 to a car, offending public morals and trying to insult or injure a person.

He was charged with threatening police officers and a public officer, disobeying police orders and breaching the peace.

Mr Zahra was also charged with threatening a person with a fire arm and with being in possession of a firearm without a license. He was charged with careless driving and with driving an unlicensed car.

The accused was taken to the Corradino Correctional Facility.
