I fully sympathise with Natasha Aleksic (What Of Customers Without Internet Banking? September 4) regarding her predicament because of the latest step back by BOV. Last Monday, after waiting in a queue for 35 minutes at the Gżira branch, I was informed by the cashier that they did not accept cheques for deposit. Instead I had to fill in an envelope and deposit it in a special box.

This we are told so that there will not be any long queues! Very funny. With this new method I still had to wait 35 minutes. How about increasing the cashiers to reduce the queues?

No way. Customer-friendly BOV makes its customers work for the bank, having to fill in the envelope. And then how will I know my account total if I'm depositing in a savings account? Is the bank going to send us a statement every month?

I really hope that the bank will have a re-think on this latest setback to its clients and show more respect to them.
