Two distinct fireworks factories in Luqa
The St Andrew's Band Club Fireworks Factory said yesterday it is in no way connected with the St Andrews Fireworks Factory in Luqa.
The band club referred to press reports about three men arraigned in connection with a find of explosives in a container, which were allegedly meant to be taken to Catania for a fireworks competition.
The Times yesterday quoted defence lawyers saying that the accused had planned to take part in a fireworks contest in Catania following an invitation extended to St Andrew's Fireworks Factory.

So there are two fireworks factories in Luqa, this means there must be many fireworks factories in Malta.
My questions to the government are these -
1. Is there a registry of approved fireworks factories, and their registered operators?
2. How many fireworks factories are there, and are they all licensed?
3. Are there monthly inspections of all fireworks factories?
4. Can some fireworks factories now in unsafe areas, be merged with other factories in safer areas?
5. Are all fireworks factories in compliance with the safety regulations?
6. Are all fireworks factories secure and safe against fire and theft?
