Carmen Zammit, the Commissioner for Children, has been quoted saying that the Cocaine drink, because of its name, is sending the wrong message to young people and children.

Sedqa is taking the same stand. Obviously, they also have the young people's health and well-being at heart. Sedqa has gone as far as asking the authorities to remove billboards advertising the drink. This way of thinking has been backed by the court which said that the Customs Department was also right in ordering that the said drinks be withdrawn from the market.

Only one person or entity is in favour of Cocaine drink. They are asking our young people to "Be Smart, Do The Drink". No great effort is needed to guess who. For him/her or them, is fattening one's pockets more important than the welfare and well-being of today's young generation? Let us sincerely hope that eventually common sense prevails over money makers. Let us also hope that our young people and children will be smart enough to refrain from drinking it.
