Two Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner yesterday.
Joseph Chetcuti, of Qormi, and Sliema's Kosta Bjedov were both handed a one-match ban after they were sent off during last weekend's programme of matches at the National Stadium.
Bjedov was dismissed midway through the first half of his team's 2-0 win over Ħamrun Spartans after he was shown a second yellow card by referee Marco Borg for dissent.
The Serb striker will now miss Sliema's next match against Floriana on Saturday, September 13.
Qormi's Chetcuti was dismissed by referee Clayton Pisani after he hit an opponent during his team's 3-1 defeat to Hibernians on Sunday. He will skip his team's match against the other newly-promoted team Tarxien on Sunday, September 14.
