Ryanair releases six million seats at €10 one way

Ryanair has just released six million seats for use in October and November for just €10 one way, including taxes and charges.

From Malta the offer is valid for flights to and from Pisa, Bari and Valencia.

Tickets can be booked only on www.ryanair.com up to Sunday, the airline said.

Company spokesman Alessia Viviani said the sale proved that Ryanair would continue to replace the era of low-fare air travel with a new period of lowest ever airfares.

"Ryanair guarantees that no one will beat our fares so we urge passengers to book these €10 seats for October and November on www.ryanair.com before midnight on Sunday."

Only Ryanair, she said, guaranteed the lowest fares and no fuel surcharge.

Some of these LCC advocates should consider thecase where their beloved champion RY, was charging airport taxes at Cork while enjoying an airport grant of one year -- tax free .
Before theyear ended , theflights were cancelled , J.P.T.A correct me if my memory fails me :-)
The tickets where advertised at a low price , but then a “fantasy” tax of £25 was added on and pocketed by RY .
Apart from the advertised price , LCC travellers have to pay additional “charges” for everything , online booking fee, priority boarding , baggage weight , additional bags , and a list of hidden charges as long as your arm.
They are then put in an airport miles from the city centre and have to pay extra money for the longer distance to travel.
All in all, the price may end up a few euros less, but then, the traveller must consider if this is worth it?
Maybe for a few euros more you should travel with an airline that does not put pressure on its pilots to limit the amount of Emergency fuel to land in an alternate airport in case of emergency ???? BYeBye for a feweuro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!******............................:-P

Yes the EUR10 flights are there. I've checked Pisa and most of the November flights, even some Dec flights (shhh!) are so priced.

Wilfred, they not only remain in business but can break even (this financial year with high oil prices) because

1) like all airlines they advertise their lowest fares. Not their average fare. This is still a low EUR44 (statement to the Irish Stock Exchange - no gimmick there). Ancillary revenue (baggage charges etc.) add up too, though less than fares.

2) they keep their costs as low as possible on all fronts (except safety) - no agents, internet sales only, no cargo, no interline agreements, and above all hundreds of new aircraft with the highest fuel efficiencies and bought at rock bottom prices soon after 9/11. (By the way KM did this too, albeit with smaller numbers).

Mike, the way they see the current economic slump is this - offer fares at the lowest prices to keep up passenger numbers. They have a cash pile of about EUR2bn. They are banking on consolidation (ie badly managed airlines going bankrupt), while they get through the squeeze. Question is will KM get through?

You know what you can keep your Air malta and leave Ryanair for common people like me who work as a waiter in a hotel with a minimum wage . Ryanair anytime any where

It's just a gimmick. How can an airline afford to stay in business if they're offering €10 flights? Perhaps the pilots and the flight attendants are chipping in to cover the actual cost of the wages, fuel, airport usage fees, taxes, etc., etc., etc. Who do they think they're fooling?

i am rather confused with this Irish Ryanair, a while back their spokesman said that they will be cutting down on certain roots to and from malta due to the riseing cost of fuel, now all of a sudden they are giving away 6 million tickets at a reduced price of 10€.. ARE These People for real or what, one might ask, they must be hard up for business as OPPOSED to Air Malta they don't need to advertise we all know one cannot compete Air Malta with such a low class cheapy airline. Well Done air malta you're number ONE in my books... welcome any reaction from my maltese friends please feel free to reply. T.T.F.N.

They will probably ask the pilots to glide half way trough to save fuel :)

GIVE ME AIR MALTA ANY DAY !!

Math isn't my forte, as they say :-P, but if a return ticket is being sold for EUR20.00 return inclusive of Taxes and Charges the "conti non tornano"! As an average, Pisa, Bari and Valencia carry something like EUR50.00 in Taxes!

Doers this mean that Ryanair is NOT paying the Airports/Governments their due Taxes, while the Legacy Carriers are scrutinized and controlled by the AEA? Is this legal in an era where Unfair Competition laws are so stringent?

A big sales gimmick, only there is always a Snag along the way, how many people travel to Pisa, or Bari in october when all the kids are back at school? Why not other destination say London or Amsterdam.. what a load of cod's wallop for a cheapy cheapy airline.. I as an Brit would rather prefer to travel in a better airline and that is no other then Air Malta., a few extra euros i am always assured of a better comfortable flight. Its only a feed back nothing else from my own experience as a frequent traveller. T.T.F.N.
