Heroin trafficking charge
A man from Żejtun was charged yesterday with trafficking in heroin on and before Sunday.
Magistrate Doreen Clarke heard Generoso Barbara plead not guilty to being in possession of 13 sachets of the drug, breaching the conditions of a previous release and relapsing. After taking into consideration the serious nature of the charge, the court remanded the accused in custody. Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted.
Lawyer Richard Sladden appeared as legal aid to Mr Barbara.
