It was with great interest that I read the letter by Noel Galea of Żurrieq (September 1) with the title Manifest Danger For Children. We too get some constructors who choose not to adhere to health and safety regulations.

A hazardous site in Sir Luigi Castelletti Street in Ta' Żwejt, San Ġwann was reported several times by our council to avoid a fatal accident. Do we need to have a tragedy to act in this small island?

Most people think that their local council has got a super potential on other entities, but it seems local councils are treated just like any other resident. Until the authorities wake up and do something about this mounting problem, we have no option but to wait and hope that we don't get any accidents in these life-threatening areas.
