This should be music to everyone's ears. The pilot "park and ride" and the "pedestrianisation" of the promenade should help to lift this zone to what it should be: Malta's prime tourist resort.
This being said, I'd like to encourage the parliamentary secretary to consider the building of a big car park (similar to the MLP's pre-electoral proposal). Not only would businesses benefit but so would the residents who have to thank their lucky stars if they find parking at the weekends.
On the other hand, the bus service is a sham here and should be looked into. I think it is ludicrous that the buses to Valletta stop at 10 p.m. when the majority of patrons and visitors are still going out at that time.
These two initiatives might not solve the infrastructural problems a big and very busy town like Buġibba faces but it would go a long way towards solving the headaches patrons and residents alike suffer when trying to park their car!
