Albert and Mabel Dimech, write:
"Fifi", as Frances was affectionately known throughout her life, passed peacefully away on August 30 after a short terminal illness borne with Christian fortitude and joy. Yes, joy. She told us personally that she was happy to know that she would eventually die as she was looking forward to meeting her Creator.
Fifi was a teacher by profession and got married rather late in life. However, her happiness in being married and caring for her devoted husband was not to last for long as she was widowed after a few years.
But the death of her husband did not deter her from comforting others and spreading happiness wherever she was. Her jovial character and radiant smile really lit up a place. Suffice it to say that during Mass her "Peace be with you" was a celebration of hugs, kisses and handshakes with whoever was within her reach.
She will be sorely missed by her family, friends, neighbours and all who knew her, including the whole community of the chapel Ġesù l-Ħabib where she was a regular worshipper.
Thank you, Fifi, for giving us the privilege of knowing you and counting us as your good friends for as long as we can remember. May you rest in peace and reap the rewards of an exemplary life.
To her sisters, her niece Joanna and her husband, who watched over her most caringly, and the rest of her family we offer our sincere condolences and prayers that our Lord will console them in bearing bravely Fifi's irreparable loss.
