The Foundation for Human Resources Development will hold a half-day conference at the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort, St Julians, on September 25.
The main thrust of the conference, called The Benefits To Employers In Valuing Informal And Non-Formal Learning, will be the impact of the validation of informal and non-formal learning to the work environment.
Research has illustrated that around 80 per cent of what adults learn is through informal and non-formal means. This includes the workplace and the direct experience employers share with employees.
The conference aims at highlighting the benefits that employers can derive from the recognition of informal and non-formal learning, particularly during the recruitment stage, and in mapping the workforce skills and competences for expansion and further investment.
The conference will be held in collaboration with the Malta Qualifications Council and the European Union Programmes Agency.
For registration and further information contact Sandra Agius on 2137 8895 or e-mail sagius@fhrd.org.
