Two deny drug importation charges

A Nigerian and a Maltese man were today remanded in custody after they pleaded not guilty to conspiring to import 200 grammes of cocaine on Saturday.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke heard Davidson Onuoha Osiri, 33, and Simon Borg, 39, from St Paul’s Bay deny conspiring to import cocaine. They also denied drug possession.

Mr Osiri alone was charged with importing the drug.

Police Inspectors Victor Aquilina and Pierre Grech prosecuted while lawyers Franco Debono, José Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for Mr Borg and Richard Sladden was legal aid to Mr Osiri.
