Man accused of defilement
A man was arraigned on Saturday and remanded in custody after being charged with defiling a 13-year-old girl in a hotel in Qawra.
Nigerian Paul Adeolu, 35, pleaded not guilty to defiling the girl who was in Malta on holiday with her family.
The arraignment was held behind closed doors due to video conferencing, where the girl testified against Mr Adelou.
Magistrate Lawrence Quintano remanded the accused in custody after taking into consideration the seriousness of the charges. Police Inspector Edmond Cuschieri prosecuted. Lawyer Mark Busutill appeared for Mr Adelou.

Dear Sir,
May I clarify some points please?
First, I am defending human beings. Irrelevant of color-creed-race-or legal status. And frequently remind the commentators that, just because some persons do not have documents, it does not mean they do not have rights.
Second, I am not addressing my fellow brothers and sisters as racist. The many surveys carried out by experts say that we are racist!
I HAVE NO POLITICAL AGENDA, to declare some areas of Malta are a no-go area…etc
Bla bla bla ...... bla bla bla........ oh yes .... only bla bla bla
It seems you are on an endless tirade on these blogs to protect these illegals at all cost, even if you look super silly to the reader.
to you they can't do no wrong and any maltese citizen that has any concern is a racist.
the word "racist" over used, has lost its currency and shock value and has become quite meaningless.
you are not convincing anyone with your arguments.
What pleasure are you possibly getting by defending illegal immigrants all over this website's forums. You seem to enjoy accusing your fellow countrymen of being racists, while the only concern many of us have is the well-being of our beloved country. Where do you live? Have you ever taken a stroll in Birzebbuga or Marsa ? Have you ever been around Floriana/Marsa at night. Have you ever had the pleasure of riding on the buses going towards Birzebbuga or Zurrieq and Safi. Dear M.Mercieca, the problem is not racism here... the problem is the country's state and shady future if things are not dealt with. people like yourself, & other ILLEGAL immigrants defenders are just betraying your country. Well done, well done indeed.

Can you prove what you are saying please?
Do you know how to work out ratios? Try looking at the ratio of crimes committed by foreginers/illegals compared to their number in Malta and than use the same exercise on the Maltese counterpart. I believe you will be astounded with the results.
Names of ACCUSED persons should never be published!
How would you like it if you were accused of such a crime and your name was published in the press? Mud sticks, and even when you are found not guilty there will always be nasty-minded people who, for the rest of your life, will point you out in the street and say "that's the man who defiled a teenager and got away with it".
No, nobody should be named-and-shamed until convicted.
Dear Racist and gentlemen,
What you want to prove?
I guess if you read newspapers you can see that crimes (quality and quantity) committed by foreigners are nothing, compared to crimes committed by locals!
As the Maltese saying goes, l-ikbar trux dak li ma jridx jisma u l-ikbar ghama dak il ma jridx jara!
When it was a MALTESE pedophile who defiled a MALTESE BOY, he was granted bail and not named.
Now it is a FOREIGN pedophile who defiled an ENGLISH GIRL he is remanded in custody because of the quote "seriousness of the charges" and named.
Some may say that this is discrimination against the immigrants and so on. I say it is discrimination against the Maltese victims. Wasn't the Maltese boys' defilement "as serious" as the English girls'? Should the public only be wary of foreign pedophiles and not Maltese ones?
A pedophile is a pedophile whether black ,white, pink or purple and a victim is a victim likewise. All cases are serious, if bail is withheld from one case it should be withheld from all as any case of this kind is as serious as the next.
Rapists,of whatever kind, should be named and shamed, Maltese or not.
If the press and authorities really wanted to protect the victims and NOT the CULPRITS they should refrain from giving details of the relationship between the culprit and victim (if any). That will just point out the monster leaving the victim and any other potential victim to live in peace.
A Nigerian living in the Hal Far Open Centre was remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to defiling a 13-year-old British girl at the Palm Court Hotel, Qawra on 28 August afternoon.
1 What was the girl doing in a hotel room with a 31 year old man?
2 Was it the hotel room she was staying in or the man's?
3 Was the man here on holiday, an illegal immigrant from a detention center or a resident in Malta?
4 Are we allowed to have all the facts?
Gide Idris Mahder started his stay in Malta at Hal Far and then moved to Marsa. One evening he attacked a Maltese woman who was walking by while speaking to her husband on her mobile phone. Mahder threw her to the ground and repeatedly told her “only one f**k” and similar words in Maltese. The husband overheard what was going on and called the police who came to the rescue. Condemning Gide Idris Mahder to a term in prison, the court said: “in the seven months he has been in Malta, he should have realized that this was not the locally accepted way to satisfy his sexual passions”.
Don’t they teach them these things at Tent City and the Open Centres?
