I found the letter in Friday's The Times titled Din l-Art Ħelwa and St John's very interesting and I was surprised that there wasn't a single comment to this letter. The letter described the proposed re-development of St John's as "monstrous". The writer says that he was saddened by Martin Galea's presentation and described his council as ambivalent. The most interesting part, however, was the fact that this letter was written by none other than Peter Apap Bologna, a founder and life member of Din l-Art Ħelwa.

So now a distinguished member of Din l-Art Ħelwa has joined the Mepa Planning Directorate, Heritage Advisory Committee, Valletta Local Council, VFRC, the Church Commission on Cultural Heritage, various NGOs and countless members of the Maltese public in condemning this proposal by St John's Foundation. It would appear that the foundation is increasingly isolated in this matter.
