David Pullicino has been reconfirmed deputy governor of the Central Bank for a further five-year term from tomorrow. Mr Pullicino has held the post since July 1, 1999.
He joined the Central Bank at its inception and has been closely associated with its development over the years, having been involved in most of the bank's operations.
He is a member of the bank's executive management committee, the investments policy committee and the audit committee. He was closely involved in the strategy for the bank's eventual integration into the European System of Central Banks and Malta's adoption of the euro. He also sits on the international relations committee of the European Central Bank.
Mr Pullicino is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, now known as the Institute of Financial Services.
