@ E.Azzopardi....With all due respect, you are not up to date in terms of all your statements.
First of all, paying €8 (Millenium Stand) to watch Malta vs Portugal is dead cheap. Secondly, we are not living in the post anymore. Women and children free???? At this level!!!! You must be joking. Which countries allow women and children in for a match for free? If FREE is an acceptable level for you then, I'm sorry, your argument is pathetic.
I live in the UK and the lowest prices I have ever found for a footy game were equivalent to €16 (men and women)!!!! It is people like you that we do not need to promote such events. You always see one tiny part of the whole picture.

This is a good occasion for all of us local football supporters to see our players give a good account of themselves ALL TOGETHER.
COME ON REDS.

Come on Jamie, come on the Malta squad....if the lads can give us more of matches such as last year`s match vs Turkey (Euro 2008 semi-finalist), then money spent on going to the stadium to support Malta would always be money well spent! Meanwhile a bit of patience...after all Malta players are pitted against `slaves` who are `tied` down to £100K per week contracts and cant change clubs before they honour the agreements they signed for!

Yes, football lovers will come to the stadium if the MFA does not charge those exhorbitant prices. Women and children should be free. That is when we are convicned that the MFA really wants the poeple to come to the stadium. That is what they do abroad.
Here, the stadium is one third full, that means two thirds empty . If prices are brought down to an acceptable level then the stadium in all probability will be full, the MFA will get more revenue and the team will get more support. But then I am humble citizen and who am I to suggest all this? Others are on their high pedestal and will not even bother to look DOWN!!!
Still, good luck Malta.

Trevor Mallia you sir are a proper football supporter, You have to suffer to be a real fan (I should know I'm Welsh!) but given time magic can happen. Mark Hughes took wales to within one game of world cup qualification but was beaten by Russia fielding a player who had failed a drugs test after the first leg.

Come-On MALTA. Don't take any notice of the big names. Last year we acheived results that no one would have immagined. Lets make this another night to remember!!!
AND TO ALL THE MALTESE. Get out of your homes ad come to Ta Qali to support our Boys. They deserve it. Let us stop being football critics only. remember that in Malta we are part-timers in football, and our players earn in a year what many players earn in a few days. And still they are managing to get better and better, Let's all Give them our support
