The Malta branch of The Helen O'Grady Academy was recently presented with an achievement award for reaching franchise goals and successfully establishing the academy as a leader in developmental drama on the island. This is the second time that the Malta branch has clinched this award.
The academy provides children with a dynamic drama programme that has been specifically designed to increase confidence, self-esteem, communicative ability and creative talents. This is done in a fun way using a carefully constructed, progressive syllabus.
Alan Montanaro, principal for the Malta branch, explained that there are no end-of-term examinations at the academy because students have enough academic pressure as it is. "No examinations means there can be no failures. Only a motivating sense of achievement - which is so important in building a child's sense of self worth," he said.
During the presentation of the award held on the island of Guernsey, founder Helen O'Grady extended warm wishes of congratulations to the academy teachers in Malta, their students and their parents, pointing out that they all form part of an international family network of over 20,000 students.
"The Helen O'Grady system works, and we've got case-studies to prove it," she said. "The Helen O'Grady Academy's dynamic, fun-filled programme coupled with an enthusiastic team of teachers ensures that children get the most out of the programme."
Mr Montanaro thanked his teachers for their support and enthusiasm in implementing the jam-packed curriculum.
Weekly classes, for children aged between five and 12 with a Youth Theatre programme for teenagers, are available in Sliema, Birkirkara, Cottonera, Attard, Żebbug and Kirkop.
