Double standards on in-flight communications?

It seems that while other airlines are striving to allow the use of mobile devices on board their aircraft, Air Malta will not even allow you to use your device in "flight mode"! Phone manufacturers obviously wasted their money developing this...

It seems that while other airlines are striving to allow the use of mobile devices on board their aircraft, Air Malta will not even allow you to use your device in "flight mode"! Phone manufacturers obviously wasted their money developing this feature.

You can, however, use your laptop even if it does have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GSM capability!
