A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Canada's Vancouver Island, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake was felt at 5:37 a.m. (1237 GMT) and was centered 95 miles (153 km) west-southwest of Port Hardy, British Columbia, and 293 miles (472 km) west-northwest of the city of Vancouver.

The USGS said the quake was reported at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 km). No tsunami warning was issued.
