An air ambulance will be taking Labour MP Karl Chircop to London for further treatment, The Times has learned.
Sources said the 43-year-old, who is in a coma after suffering a cerebral haemorrhage on August 3, is still on ventilation making it difficult for him to travel on a normal plane.
The sources said an air ambulance has a similar set-up as an intensive therapy unit, which is where Dr Chircop has been receiving treatment for the past weeks.
On Tuesday, the Health Division announced that the young MP will be flown to the UK for further treatment after showing "positive signs". Although he is still in a deep coma, this has been described as lighter than it was when he was admitted to hospital over three weeks ago.
In fact, Dr Chircop's condition was originally described as "precarious", but he registered some improvement a short time after. His wife, Adriana, had also said that Dr Chircop's condition had "definitely improved" and she has described every day as "a miracle".
