A number of gas cylinder regulators on the market have worn plastic pins that stop gas from passing through, Enemalta said yesterday.

The corporation issued a statement following a number of complaints it has received.

Enemalta said it has, therefore, taken all necessary measures and informed the competent authorities to ensure that imported regulators are of a good quality.

Although the corporation doesn't import or sell regulators, it offers a 24-hours emergency service and accepts complaints on 7900 8892. The service is free but when personnel are sent to fix any faults, Enemalta charges €11.65.

For further information contact the Consumer Office at Enemalta on 8007 2224.
