I have, occasionally, highlighted the facelift the streets at Tas-Sellum, Mellieħa direly need by being asphalted or tarmaced or whatever is done to turn the space between two rows of buildings into streets rather than a squalid slum.

This area is frequented and inhabited by many Maltese all year round but especially in summer, not to mention the tourists.

I have even heard several neighbours reiterating that members of the Mellieħa local council fully agree that the streets should be resurfaced properly. Unfortunately, this has been the case for the last three or four years. I have, consequently, started harbouring the impression that probably a private contractor is responsible for the upkeep of this area as was the case with the Mellieħa Housing Estate.

I appeal to the Malta Tourism Authority and the Ministry for Resources to take the necessary actions to urgently redeem this neighbourhood.
