The Labour Party is inviting the public to put forward ideas, comments, opinions and proposals on the party's statute and structures to turn the MLP into "the country's most dynamic political organisation".

For the first time, the statute has been posted on the party's website www.mlp.org.mt.

MLP members as well as the public are being urged to submit suggestions either electronically via the website or by post to the party's headquarters in Ħamrun.

The party said this was another public consultation process in line with Labour leader Joseph Muscat's committment to launch a "new political season" and implement reforms needed so that the party would better reflect all sectors of today's society.

It added that a general conference would be called later this year to approve important changes to the statute and structures so that the party would "start working more efficiently to become the base of a movement of progressives and moderates in our country".
