St Venera feast

The Msida feast has come and gone and everyone was kept happy as the main roads were not closed and other places were identified for letting off petards.

Unfortunately for the St Venera firework enthusiasts, the controversy affected their feast even more than it did Msida's. They were informed by the police on the Friday before the feast that they could not let off petards from their usual site, by which time it was too late for other options.

Surely they could have been informed in advance. Fundraising events were held throughout the year to prepare for the feast, and enthusiasts feel it was all in vain.
