Hotels association disputes survey finding
The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) Council yesterday expressed surprise at three-star hotel prices in Malta quoted in a holiday expenses survey published in the UK newspaper Financial Times.
The survey was referred to in Thursday's business section of The Times. It claimed that the average rate of a three-star hotel in Malta is €135 a night.
The MHRA said that from surveys it conducts on a quarterly basis among its members, the only category of hotels that comes close to charging such average rates are the five-star hotels in peak summer.
"Definitely the rates of three-star hotels are much lower and closer to an average of €60 per room per night on bed and breakfast sleeping two persons," it said.
The MHRA, added, however, that it was good to note in the same survey that Malta fares well when compared to the other 26 EU member states with regards to the cost of a three-course meal, a bottle of beer and a glass of wine.

If they are claiming that it costs 135 euro they are liars and ruining the only resource in our country. I think at least we are mentioned somewhere, its seems like everywhere i go around the world Malta has no exposure, this is why we have no americans, chinese, australians coming over to the island... lets forget the brits for a while and start targeting the rest of the world please.
