Girl hospitalised for smoke inhalation
Arsonists targeted the front doors of two houses and also destroyed a car overnight, the police said.
The police said the first case was reported at 2.45 a.m. in Main Street, Mellieha, where a tyre was placed against the facade of a house and set on fire, extensively damaging the door..
The second case occurred at Mikelang Sapiano Street, Mqabba.Although no one was injured, a 14-year-old girl had to be hospitalised for smoke inhalation.
A similar case also occurred yesterday, when the door of a house in Triq il-Madonna tal-Gilju, Mqabba, was also set on fire.
The police also reported hat a fire also extensively damaged a Peugeot that was parked beneath Fort St Elmo in Valletta early this morning.
But the police this evening said the car had deliberately been lit by its owner, who is being treated in hospital for burns.
The fire was put out by Civil Protection Department personnel.

@Karl Abela
How can you conclude with almost certainty that it was 'drug infested peresons'? It's an extreme prejudice. Most arson attacks take place in order to harm or threaten the individual or his mentality which is much worse then mere vandalism.
Also, drug addicts are more likely to steal from cars or houses than burn them

@ victor dimech ......do rest assured my dear mr.dimech that it wasn't and ever will be my

Installing CCTV's on every corner of the island is both impossible and costs a fortune. The cause here is almost certainly drug infested persons whose actions are beyond reasoning when they get high. The solution is to deal with the drug problem which is an almost impossible task.

Criminal arson sooner or later will be the cause of someone's death - this is a virtual certainty. It may be seen as just a dangerous bit of vandalism by the perpetrators, but when someone dies that will change things, and everyone will wake up to just how dangerous this is.
More CCTV cameras may help to catch these crazy people, before someone dies from these criminal actions.
Alao kids in school need to be taught useful things for the real world, as well as the usual educational stuff. Kids also need to know about things like, what to do when there is a fire and about the different types of fire extinguishers, about first aid and road safety etc.

Do the victims of these attacks have anything in common?
Do they all belong to a particular group or organisation?
Either way the perpetrators of these crimes need to be caught before anymore damage is done or lives are lost.

I firmly beleive that these aactions are made by angry and retarded people....who have fewer
means to express it. I feel that these culprits are below normal intelligence. However, I beleive that anger remains the purpose of their motivation.
Anyway , has ever anyone been caught !?
