Obituary

AZZOPARDI. On August 19, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, JOE of Rabat, aged 63, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Carmen, his beloved children Natalie and her husband Denis Fsadni, Antonella and her husband Pierre Ferrante and Deborah and her husband Adrian Mizzi, his dearest grandchildren Rebecca, Kurt and Christa, his brothers and sisters, Michael and Mona, Paul and Josephine, Maria and Peter Mifsud, Rita and Joe Mifsud, Raymond and Vicky and Therese and Edward Meilak, his in-laws Vincenza Vella, May and Charles Cassar, Joe and Doris Vella and Tessie Vella, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Ta' Ġieżu church, Rabat, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment in the family vault at the Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and The Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF EYNAUD. On August 20, at her residence, CAROL ANNE of Sliema, aged 59, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her beloved daughters Chantal and Amanda Aloisio, her mother Veronica Micallef Eynaud, née Mattei, her sisters Cecily, Greta and her husband Tony Nicholl, her brother Philip and his wife Fiona, née Tripp, her nieces and nephews Christian, Patrick, Nicola, Jean Paul, Simon, Elisa and Stephanie, other relatives and friends. Dearly missed by her beloved cats. Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at Balluta parish church, St Julians, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to The Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated.

SAMMUT. On August 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTOINETTE of Pietà, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Ricky and her husband Joe and Colin and his wife Ady, her grandchildren Sasha, Rebecca, Thomas, Mitchell and Sebastian, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Fatima Sanctuary, Guardamangia, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Balzan cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA - JOHN LAWRENCE. In loving memory of a beloved husband, father and grandfather, today the fourth anniversary of his death. Always sadly missed by his wife Marianna, his children, their respective spouses and grandchildren.

GOVÈ. In loving memory of CATHERINE on the seventh anniversary of her sudden demise. Fondly and lovingly remembered by her husband Saviour and her only son Emanuel, her sisters and their spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MIFSUD - KENNETH, 21.8.65-22.8.92. Remembering our dear Kenny who died tragically 16 years ago today. Never forgotten, forever loved. His mother Jean, his brothers Colin and Andrew and his wife Ulrika and their families. Please remember him in your prayers.

Advanced first aid course

An advanced first-aid course aimed at people involved in first-line emergency response at their place of work, personnel running first-aid posts, and others who want to improve their first-aid skill is being organised by the Red Cross.

The 40-hour course covering theory and practice will be spread over 10 sessions held on Saturday afternoons. The first session starts on September 6.

As the number of persons who can take part is limited, acceptance is on a first-come basis.
