A team of shooters from the Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) were in Italy last weekend to take part in The Fulignio Trap Grand Prix 2008.

The competition was on 125 clays with the best six shooters qualifying for the final barrage.

Frans Pace managed 115 out of 125, missing out on the final by just two points.

The other Maltese shooters obtained the following scores: Nicky Carabott, Zaren Attard 108; James Galea 106; Eugenio Borg 105; Kurt Cardona 103; Paul Gatt 100; Raymond Micallef 98; Frank Scorfna 93; George Grech 93; Charlie Fenech 92.

The next overseas assignment for MSSF shooters is the European Juniors Skeet Grand Prix, to be held in Sabbia D'Oro at the end of this month.

In September, another group of MSSF members will be taking part in the Euro Commonwealth Shooting Championships in Gibraltar.

The junior shooters within the MSSF are also preparing for an important competition, the Pune Junior Commonwealth Games which will be held in India from October 12-18.
