'Stolen' mobile phone lands man in court

A man from St Paul's Bay was remanded in custody yesterday after pleading not guilty to handling stolen property, after the police allegedly found him with a mobile phone that had been stolen two weeks ago.

Magistrate Michael Mallia also heard 34-year-old Jason Scerri deny relapsing on August 20.

Police Inspector Raymond Cassar said that the phone was one of many items worth thousands of euros stolen from a residence in St Paul's Bay on August 3.

Lawyer Anthony Cutajar appeared for Mr Cassar.
