Lifecyclists undeterred after 10 drop out
The morale of the remaining 25 cyclists in this year's HSBC LifeCycle Challenge remains high, despite 10 cyclists having had to drop out, a spokesman for the challenge said today.
A cyclist gave up yesterday morning, another five on Wednesday and four earlier on.
Spokesman Karen Zammit told The Times that the cyclist who stopped yesterday morning did so because of physical and psychological tiredness.
Six of the other cyclists suffered knee injuries, one had a severe migraine, another had to stop because of fear of cycling at night and one because of open sores.
The team yesterday cycled 176 kilometres from Jaèn to Antequera, in Andalucia in southern Spain.
Although it was a shorter route than Wednesday's 256 kilometres, it was still a tough ride since the terrain is hilly.
The team will today be joined by HSBC staff members who will cycle with the challengers along the last leg of some 500 kilometres to the finish line in Casablanca, Morocco.
The HSBC team are expected to start cycling tomorrow.

Come Guys, these cyclist need our support for the courage and will power sthey are showing to conclude their goal. After all some of us may sometime need the machine they are collecting cash for. Three cheers for you all God is with you and will remember you on your day of judgement.
