Impairing wardens' vision
Revel Barker (Eyesight Tests For Traffic Wardens, August 18) can be forgiven for wondering why local wardens fail to spot so many misdemeanours.
Perhaps, they can't see for the smog left by the buses and trucks buring low heating oil.

They may also be too busy talking over their mobile phone whilst staring at a crane or half a dozen works department employees pruning a tree.
